Project Transference was a project by Aztechnology, aimed at trying to create or elicit magic or meta-magical qualities in metahumans. As opposed to many other such projects that have been undertaken in the past, this one seemed to have been somewhat successful.
An Extension of this project included the Church of the New Dawn as featured in late Season 1.
Peter Blake worked on Project Transference.
Tag has worked as a researcher on Project Transference before fleeing Aztlan (after leaking some information on the project). His wife joined him as a researcher (later kidnapped by definitely not by AzTech).
J4D3's parents were researchers on the project as well (later kidnapped by definitely not AzTech).
